Make a splash in the marketplace.
The key to getting sales is making your book, and yourself, known.
To get people interested in your book, you have to get them interested in you and your story. Below you'll find tools to help you do just that - get reviews, attract media, give people something to remember you by.
A couple of things are missing from this page that you'll see on many other sites. To find out why there are some things we refuse to offer, read our article on
Ingram Advance Magazine – $75
Advance, the flagship trade publication of the Ingram Book Group, the nation's largest book distributor, is sent monthly to thousands of booksellers and libraries all over the world. We'll include a b&w image of your cover, retail pricing info, and a short description of your book. Titles may only be included in Advance when they are first released, so this service must be ordered prior to publication. It is not available after your book has gone to press.
Press Release – $250
A sharply crafted press release, properly placed, spreads the word, leaves a profesional impression, and motivates buyers and reviewers to take a look at your book. Your release will be placed on-line through wide-distribution wire services that reach thousands of people. Unlike email spam campaigns, press wire services are subscribed to by millions of individuals and businesses looking for topics, books and interviews to be used in print, radio, television and internet media. There is no lower-cost way to get the word out to those who will actually read and notice your book.
Printed Hardcover Dustjackets – $75 for a set of 25.
If you're publishing a hardcover version of your book, extra dustjackets are available. A dustjacket, without the book, is often sent along with a sell sheet about your book to stores and other outlets. Bookbuyers are used to it - many distributors salesmen carry dustjackets only - and it saves you the cost of printing and mailing copies of your hardcover book if you're contacting a lot of buyers.
